2023-2024 Fundraisers

Fundraisers 2023-2024

Fundraising is a big part of what keeps tuition affordable at St. Joseph Marquette. Our Parent
Board is committed to raising $252,000 annually, and is proud to say that they have
accomplished this goal every year. This success would not be possible without the continual
support from our families here at St. Joe’s. Not only do these fundraisers help raise money for
our school, but getting involved is a great way to meet and connect with other families. Below is
a list of our annual fundraisers, their requirements, and the ways you can get involved. More
information about each is sent home in the weekly Wednesday Letter, or via OptionC as the dates
approach.

Car Raffle (Kick-off in September, drawing in early December)
Net Goal: $70,000
Requirement: Each student is responsible for selling a minimum of $100 worth of raffle tickets
Co-Chairs: Bianca Villa & Julia Romero

Win a car for only $5! At that price, these tickets sell themselves, especially if you sign up to sell
with the car. Sign-up sheets are sent out in the Wednesday envelope, and there are opportunities
to sell tickets early starting in May. Volunteer opportunities include stuffing raffle packets,
collecting raffle money Tuesdays & Fridays, towing the car and separating tickets. There are lots
of fun incentives for the kids and you can also earn volunteer hours for selling over the $100 per
child minimum.

Fresh Catch Dinner & Auction (November 4th, 2023; St. Joe’s Gymnasium)
Net Goal: $125,000
Requirements: 4 volunteer hours per family (by donating, sponsoring or volunteering)
Chair: Eileen Gamache

This is the 19th year for our largest annual fundraiser. It is a fun evening filled with great
food/beverages, live and silent auctions, a dessert dash & dancing. There are many ways to
support this event, including joining a committee, donating auction items or desserts, attending
the event, sponsoring a table, becoming an event sponsor, picking up donations, helping the
evening of the event, heading up a classroom auction project, etc.

Fish Frydays (First 6 Fridays of Lent)
Net Goal: $25,000
Chair: Brandy Spry

Fish Frydays take place every Friday during Lent (except Good Friday). This is our 16th year for
this fun, family-friendly event that has become something the whole community looks forward
to. Fish & Chips or Mac n’ Cheese dinners are sold and served in the St. Joe’s cafeteria, as well
as in the “To-Go Tent” outside. There is also a great selection of local beer and wine. This event
requires a lot of volunteer hours to run smoothly, including weekly fish prep, set-up, frying fish,
serving food/beverages & clean-up. There are also sponsorship opportunities for local
businesses, where their banners will be displayed in the gymnasium all 6 weeks.

Jog-A-Thon (May 3, 2024)
Net Goal: $35,000
Requirement: Each student is responsible for collecting a minimum of $50 in pledges
Chair: Jennifer Hernandez

This year marks the 48th St. Joe’s Jog-a-Thon. This is the one fundraiser where the kids get to
really shine and take the lead on fundraising. Each student collects pledges, either in person or
online during the weeks leading up to the event. The day of the event students run as many laps
as they can in one hour. There are fun incentives for the kids for both dollars raised and most laps
run. The students also enjoy being able to wear their Jog-a-Thon shirts to school, in place of their
uniform shirts during the weeks leading up to the event. There are sponsorship opportunities that
will get your business’ name on the back of the shirts, and volunteer opportunities collecting
money weekly, as well as the day of the event.

Golf Tournament (May)
Net Goal: $10,000
Chair: Brian & Lindsay Riel

Last but not least, get a team together for a great day of golf! Lots of wonderful prizes and an
incredible dinner afterwards. This event is another great way to get your business recognized by
sponsoring a hole.
